Napa Valley Vintners (NVV) is a non-profit – one of the largest and sole Trade Association established around 1944, responsible for promoting and protecting the Napa Valley Appellations as the premier winegrowing region of the world. Today, the Association has over 350 Member Wineries and is collectively a leader in the world-wide Wine Industry.

Every year, the Association hosts an “invitation only” Wine Futures Auction for the best wines ever produced called “Premier Napa Valley Wines”. Each wine must be one of a kind and crafted in small amounts of 5-20 cases at the most – which allows the Vintner the opportunity to break with tradition, to bend the usual rules and to come up with something truly remarkable and personal. These are some of the best- of –the- best, rare, limited-edition and cellar-selection wines that can be enjoyed for years to come.

The Live Auction itself is such a worthy aspect of our Community where we see all wine lovers come together from different parts of the world to bid for these handcrafted boutique Wines that are made available to Trade only. In the past 65 plus years, the Association has donated millions of Dollars to area’s hospitals, affordable housing projects for the needy and shelter-less, schools and other charitable projects needed for the different communities in USA. Thanks to the Vintners, bidders and volunteers who with their joint efforts make this event a great and successful event every year at Culinary institute Building at Greystone, Napa.

3. LOT NO. 148 MERRYVALE VINEYARDS – CHAIRMAN’S RESERVE CABERNET SAUVIGNON. $275.00 Total cases produced: 5 (60 bottles). Availability: End of 2009 - Futures available now. Cost: $275 per bottle – limit two bottles per person. WINEMAKER’S NOTES: Marryvale is a family owned Napa Valley Winery dedicated to make wines of perfect balance, intensity and elegance. This Chairman’s reserve selection is a unique lot of 100% Cabernet Sauvignon grapes from Oakville – one of California’s “First growth” appellations. Opulent flavors of blackberry, cassis and mocha are seamlessly integrated with the fine tannins that have become a signature of our Vineyard. Enjoy for years to come.	4. LOT NO. 23 – LIVINGSTON MOFFET WINES – RED WINE ALDAN’S BLEND. $175.00 Total cases produced: 5 (60 bottles). Availability: January 2010 – Futures available now. Cost: $175 per bottle – limit 2 bottles per person. WINEMAKER’S NOTES: the Cabernet is from the Howell Mountain Vineyard and being just shy of two acres, it’s the smallest of our Vineyards. The Cabernet Franc Vineyard in St. Helena is one of the rockiest sites you will find in the Napa Valley – we only have about an acre of Franc planted to this four-acre Vineyard and it gives us low yields and wonderfully concentrated fruit. The final vineyard source for Aldan’s blend is a three-acre knoll top in the Oak knoll district. This little Syrah vineyard produces some magical cool climate fruit, water starved and naturally low yields give us some of Napa’s finest wines.
5. LOT NO. 46 SPRING MOUNTAIN VINEYARD 2007 PETIT VERDOT – BLOCK 88 $150.00 Total cases produced: 5 (60 bottles). Availability: January 2011 – Futures available now. Cost: $150 per bottle – limit 2 bottles per person. WINEMAKER’S NOTES: Petit Verdot, as it grows on the steep hillsides of Spring Mountain Vineyard, is a unique expression of the variety for several reasons; little green comes to full ripeness at its 1,450 foot elevation above the valley floor and expresses the powerful concentration of Spring Mountain Terroir. Its pungent, fruit-forward aromas with uncommon notes of Clementine, plum and cherry, and its deep color and concentration are just two reasons why Block 88 is consistently part of the Elivette blend. On the palate, the wine is round and full-bodied, and interlaced with flavors of cocoa, cherry and red apple. Block 88 yields only two tons per acre. Enjoy for next 10 years.	6. LOT NO. 103 LUNA VINEYARDS 2007 CABERNET SAUVIGNON $150.00 Total cases produced: 10 (120 bottles). Availability: March 2010 – futures available now. Cost: $175 per bottle – limit 4 bottles per person. WINEMAKER’S NOTES: Our 2007 Luna Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon is composed of grapes from the sunlit slopes of Howell Mountain. The grapes were picked in late September, sorted pre- and post-destemming and fermented with native yeasts. After three weeks of maceration, the free-run wine is being aged in 100% new French oak. The wine has a deep blackberry color with aromas of blueberries and anise. The bright fruit flavors complement dusty tannins on the finish. This never-before-released wine represents the best of the Napa Valley’s mountainside vineyards.
7. LOT NO. 124 FLORA SPRINGS 2007 CABERNET SAUVIGNON $195.00 Total cases produced: 5 (60 bottles). Availability: October 2009 – futures available now. Cost: $195 per bottle – limit 2 bottles per person. WINEMAKER’S NOTES: The story begins with a small rock-lined creek that runs down the middle of the Flora Springs Estate. This inconspicuous creek, home to annual paper boat races, empty fishing baskets and bamboo forts, also serves as the dividing line between two world renowned prestigious appellations – Rutherford and Saint Helena. On the sides of its banks grow two of our most sacred Cabernet Sauvignon Vineyards, which in turn, produce our most magnificent single-vineyard wines – the Rutherford Hillside Reserve and the Saint Helena Rennine Reserve. For the 2009, Premier Napa Valley, we have taken equal parts of each Cabernet to create a most divine wine, our Rutherford Cabernet Sauvignon that is deep, dark, intense and very complex with superb tannins and an age-worthy back bone. Enjoy for next 10-15 years.	8. LOT NO. 159 IDEOLOGY CELLARS 2007 CABERNET SAUVIGNON. $140.00 Total cases produced: 10 (120 bottles). Availability: November, 2010 – futures available now. Cost: $140 per bottle – limit 4 bottles per person. “It’s the vineyard that creates the quality and a wine’s uniqueness”. Our vineyard, in the Oak Knoll District, is something special. It is bordered on the north by Dry Creek, which has left its legacy by distributing sandy and gravelly soil throughout the vineyard. These soils translate into ideal growing conditions for the fruit, yielding deep, concentrated and intense flavors in the wine. This unique estate Vineyard- the Robert Williamson Family Estate, is the foundation for producing this exceptional Cabernet. Rose petals, briary red fruit with clove, cinnamon, and cedar flank the nose, leading seamlessly to a voluptuous mid-palate of ripe black plums and cherries. This finely crafted Cabernet finishes long with soft hints of dark chocolate, clove and vanilla bean. Enjoy for next 10 years.
9. LOT NO. 173 EHLERS ESTATE 2007 CABERNET SAUVIGNON – THREE CLONES SAINT HELENA $240.00 Total cases produced: 5 (60 bottles). Availability: March, 2010 – futures available now. Cost: $240 per bottle – limit 2 bottles per person. WINEMAKER’S NOTES: Ehlers Estate is known for its Cabernet production. What is less known is that on our 39 acres, we have 24 different clone and rootstock combinations? This Three Clone Cabernet is 100% estate grown and a blend of 85% clone 337, 10% clone 15 and 5% Clone 8. We practice strict biodynamic farming methods and we are certified organic farmers by CCOF. Our Vineyard was established by Bernard Ehlers in 1886. In honor of our founders, Jean and Sylvaine Leducg, we donate a portion of winery proceeds to International Cardiovascular Research. The wine is dark, deep ruby red with tiers of currant, blackberry, black cherry and plum fruit and a long finish that shows mineral and tobacco notes. Enjoy for next 10 years plus.
